1. Till The Darkness Leaves by RJChasez
She notices the attention he constantly gives to her. She sees the way he looks at her, talks to her. It's in a way no one else ever has.
And that's what bothers her the most right now.
No one else talks to her the way he does. No one else ever looks at her the way he does. No one else makes her laugh that way. No one else makes her smile constantly when she's around them.
And only now it's starting to bother her.
It doesn't bother her that he does it.
It bothers her because he's the only one.
Sometimes it feels like he's the only one who sees her.
She loves Clark, she loves Clark more than anything else in this world, but he doesn't love her. Or at least, she doesn't think he does. At least not in the way he loves his precious Lana. He pays attention to her, but it's not enough. It's never been enough.
She thought she could love Jimmy, but she wonders sometimes if Jimmy even loves her. He pays attention to her, calls her his girl, asks for for sex a lot. But that's not the right kind of attention, and she knows it. It's not enough. It would never be enough.
But Bart... Bart loves her. She knows he does. He pays more attention to her than Clark and Jimmy ever have, almost combined, and she's only been in his presence a few dozen times.
And as she lays on the cold wooden floor in her apartment, she cries. She cries because the stark reality of that is finally hitting her. She also cries because another truth has unraveled in her mind tonight.
Bart loves her, and God help her, she wants to love him.
She wants desperately to love him. She wants to love him in a way she could never love Clark. She wants to love him in a way she could never even dream of loving Jimmy.
She wants to love him because he sees her. He sees who she is, and loves her, in spite of all her flaws. In spite of any weird sucky freaky powers, in spite of the fact that she's not supposed to be "the pretty one".
She wants to love Bart Allen, because he's the only one who sees her. He might be the only one who's ever seen her. And he might be the only one who can save her.
And as she lays there, wishing and praying, she cries.
And he sees her.
And he cries with her.
